Safety & Risk Management

Trekking Is Real Risk ,We Plan for It Accordingly

Safety

High-altitude trekking, jungle safaris, and remote adventure travel carry genuine risks, altitude sickness, unpredictable weather, difficult terrain, and limited access to emergency care. We don't treat this lightly. Every trek we run is built around insurance requirements, acclimatization schedules, and evacuation planning before it's built around scenery.

Mandatory Travel & Rescue Insurance

We require proof of travel insurance covering high-altitude trekking and helicopter evacuation before confirming treks. We can point you to providers that cover Nepal-specific altitude and activity clauses, standard travel insurance often excludes both.

Acclimatization & Altitude Protocols

Itineraries build in rest days and gradual ascent limits, following standard mountaineering guidance. Guides are trained to recognize early signs of altitude sickness and to descend a client immediately if symptoms progress, no itinerary is fixed at the cost of a client's safety.

Emergency Evacuation Network

Established contact with helicopter rescue operators serving Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, and Manaslu regions. Guides carry satellite communication devices on all high-altitude routes, since mobile coverage disappears above most base camps.

Licensed, Wilderness-Trained Guides

Guides hold government trekking licenses and wilderness first-aid certification, including basic life support and altitude illness management. route carries a full first-aid kit and supplemental oxygen access via our support network.

Weather & Route Risk Assessment

Departure decisions factor in seasonal weather patterns, recent trail conditions, and regional advisories. Routes are adjusted or delayed rather than run into known hazards like storm systems or unstable river crossings.

Pre-Trip Health Screening

We ask about pre-existing heart, lung, and blood pressure conditions before confirming high-altitude bookings, and recommend a physician consultation for anyone with relevant medical history before departure.

Important: This page describes our operational safety practices and is not medical advice. Altitude sickness can affect anyone regardless of fitness level, and its onset can be unpredictable. Anyone with pre-existing cardiac, respiratory, or blood pressure conditions or anyone pregnant should consult a physician before booking high-altitude travel. Travel insurance with helicopter evacuation and high-altitude coverage is required for most treks; we can share provider suggestions, but arranging coverage is the traveler's responsibility.
